About the Conejo Valley Audubon Society

For the Birds and the World We Love

The Conejo Valley Audubon Society (CVAS) was founded in 1968 and is an active chapter of the National Audubon Society. Our chapter is based in Ventura County in Southern California, and our 500+ members come from southeastern Ventura County and northwestern Los Angeles County.

CVAS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and we depend on the time, energy, and generosity of our volunteer members to do this work.

Our Mission

The mission of the Conejo Valley Audubon Society is to actively promote the enjoyment and conservation of natural habitats, native plants, and wildlife, with a special emphasis on birds.

What We Do

We bring our mission to life through:

Birdwatching Field Trips

Regular field walks led by experienced birders, open to members and newcomers alike, across the natural areas of southeastern Ventura County and northwestern Los Angeles County.

Educational Programs

Monthly speaker programs and events that build knowledge and appreciation of local birds, native plants, and the habitats that support them.

Habitat Restoration

Hands-on restoration work to protect and rebuild the natural spaces our local bird populations depend on.

Community Science

Active participation in the California Breeding Bird Atlas project, helping track and protect breeding bird populations across the state.

Conservation Advocacy

Ongoing work to protect native habitats and wildlife in our community for current and future generations.

We welcome anyone who shares our love of birds, native plants, and the wild spaces of our region, whether you're a lifelong birder or picking up binoculars for the first time.

If you would like to make a one-time or recurring donation to CVAS, please use the Donate button here. Donations of $20 or more will automatically include one year of membership for your family.

CVAS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and donations to CVAS may be tax-deductible.
