DESCRIPTION:Interested in learning more about birds\, but unsure where/how to start? Join us over the course of three weekends as we go over the basics of birdwatching\, become familiar with field guides and equipment\, and learn about the local birds in the area! Suitable for all ages! \nWhat to bring: Binoculars (if you have them; if not\, we can supply them!)\, field guides\, and a cheerful attitude! \nDonation: A $10 donation per class is encouraged\, but not required! Donations will go to the Conejo Valley Botanical Garden. PayPal\, card\, cash\, and check are all accepted. \nLocation: Our third class will be held at Rancho Simi Community Park. There\, we will look at the duck pond and Arroyo Simi to become familiar with some basic waterfowl and wading birds. SUMMARY:Beginner Bird Walk - Rancho Sierra Vista / Satwiwa
DESCRIPTION:Conejo Valley Audubon invites birders of all experience levels to attend our monthly Beginner Bird Walks at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa. These walks are held on the second Wednesday of each month. We will meet at 8:00 am at the main parking lot\, which is accessible off Lynn Road at Via Goleta in Newbury Park. \n  Rancho Sierra Vista is an excellent place to see many of the oak woodlands birds that are common in the Conejo Valley area. We will take time to introduce beginning birders to these species and will teach the best techniques for locating and identifying them. Wear comfortable walking shoes. \nPlease register in advance by contacting walk leader Richard Armerding at (310) 701-3878 (texting is OK).
