DESCRIPTION:Come learn the basics of birdwatching and how to use a field guide and binoculars. Learn to ID the birds in your backyard and our local parks. A bird walk in the Conejo Community Park will follow. \n\n\n\nMeet at 8:00 am at the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden (CVBG)\, 400 W. Gainsborough Rd.\, Thousand Oaks. Drive to the parking lot on Jeaunine Drive. Class will be held in the Kids’ Adventure Garden. A $10 cash donation will be collected for CVBG. Bring water & snacks\, wear comfortable shoes and binoculars if you have them. After this one class\, you’ll feel ready to join our regular schedule of birding trips. DESCRIPTION:If you’re a new birder looking to familiarize yourself with local species\, then consider joining the 2024 Breeding Birds class! This class is a great way to gain familiarity with over 200 species of birds that nest in our region. Emphasis will be on family and species-level characteristics\, plus field trips to practice IDs. \nThe class consists of two Wednesday evening workshops with slides and study skins\, held at the WFVZ Museum from 6-8:30 pm on May 15th and 22nd. Field trips will be held the following Saturdays\, May 18th and 25th\, from 7:30-11 am. The course provides 12 hours of instruction\, slides\, and other materials for home review afterward.
