DESCRIPTION:Conejo Valley Audubon invites birders of all experience levels to attend our monthly Beginner Bird Walk at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa. Rancho Sierra Vista is an excellent place to see many of the oak woodlands birds that are common in the Conejo Valley area.We will take time to introduce beginning birders to these species and teach the best techniques for locating and identifying them.  \n\n\n\nThese walks are held on the second Wednesday of each month.  \n\n\n\nWe will meet at 8:00 am at the main parking lot\, accessible from Lynn Road at Via Goleta in Newbury Park.  \n\n\n\nWear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing\, and bring water.Contact walk leader Richard Armerding at (310) 701-3878 (texting is OK) \n\n\n\nRSVP: https://mobilize.us/s/MUHxxU \n\n\n\nLocation/directions: Use the entrance off Lynn Road\, near Dos Vientos. SUMMARY:SE Arizona Bird Trip
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a trip to Sky Islands of Southeast Arizona! These isolated mountain ranges create unique habitats for birds found nowhere else in the United States! Iconic species like Coppery-tailed Trogon\, Pyrrhuloxia\, Rivoli’s Hummingbird\, Elf Owl\, Red-faced Warbler\, and much more are waiting to be seen. \n\n\n\nWe will carpool out from the Los Angeles area on Thursday\, July 30th\, and return on Monday\, August 3rd. We will be spending the night(s) in Tucson\, the Chiricahua Mountains\, Sierra Vista\, and Madera Canyon. Logistics are all planned out\, and each individual will pay for their own lodging and food. DESCRIPTION:Where the Santa Clara River meets the Pacific Ocean in Ventura\, this dynamic estuary combines river\, lagoon\, salt marsh\, mudflats\, beach\, and coastal dune habitat. SUMMARY:Ventura River Estuary
DESCRIPTION:Where the Ventura River meets the Pacific\, this estuary supports one of the county’s most reliable spots for shorebirds and waterbirds year-round. Osprey work the channel for fish alongside Double-crested and Brandt’s Cormorants\, while Brown Pelicans cruise low over the water. Look for Willets\, Sanderlings\, and a rotating cast of plovers working the tideline\, plus gulls and terns resting on the sandbar. \n\n\n\nRSVP: https://mobilize.us/s/qA6hVA \n\n\n\nGetting there: Park at the West Main Street lot at the west end of downtown Main Street\, just before the bridge over the Ventura River. Walk the path along the river down to the estuary\, where signage overlooks the site. The ocean is a short walk beyond. \n\n\n\nFacilities: No services at the estuary itself; restrooms are available on the promenade nearby.
